Moke International unveiled the second generation of its electric beach car, the Electric Moke Mk2, at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, where it's on display through October 18. The British-built, open-air runabout gets a larger battery, a relocated charging port and a new front storage compartment, part of a broader refresh that keeps the car's original stripped-down look intact.
The Mk2 replaces a 10.8-kilowatt-hour pack with a 23.5-kWh unit. That stretches WLTP-rated range to 106 miles from 54 miles on the outgoing model. Moke International says real-world coastal and city driving can push that figure to around 115 miles.

The Mk2 keeps the same rear-mounted 44-horsepower electric motor as its predecessor despite the range gain. Acceleration and top speed aren't expected to improve. Top speed remains capped at 50 mph, in keeping with the car's role as a low-speed resort and beach vehicle.
Charging comes from a 6.6-kW onboard charger that takes the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in about two hours. A standard 3.2-kW household outlet in the US or UK takes roughly seven hours for a full charge, a tradeoff the company describes as acceptable given how most Mk2 buyers will use the car.
The charging port itself has moved to the rear of the vehicle, a change the automaker says tidies up the car's exterior. The new layout also redistributes weight across the chassis, which Moke says improves handling.
Lorne Vary, chief executive officer at Moke International, tied the update to the brand's broader identity. "Time spent in a Moke is about living life to the full, embracing the moment and enjoying the freedom to explore," Vary said.

The Mk2 adds an 86-liter (3 cubic foot) lockable front storage compartment, giving owners a dedicated spot for beach gear and luggage that previously had to ride in the cabin. Moke International says the added space is meant to free up room for passengers without sacrificing practicality.
Inside, a new center console introduces a rotary gear selector alongside clearer warning lights, replacing the Mk1's simpler layout. The dashboard also gains USB-C ports, a 12-volt outlet, rear cup holders and wider footwells, additions aimed at everyday comfort.
Color options have expanded for European buyers, who now get access to Moke's full lineup: the Original Collection (Wave Blue, Sunlight Yellow, Sunset Orange), the California Collection (Sonoma Red, Laguna Blue, Venice White), and Earth Naturals (Shell White, Eucalyptus Green, Palm Green). The California shades were previously sold only in the US market.
What do you think?
The Electric Moke Mk2 carries a starting price of €35,000, excluding local taxes and incentives, which converts to roughly $39,000 at current exchange rates. The car is available to test drive, rent, or buy across several European markets, with Moke International operating through a network of 10 retail partners spanning Europe and the Americas.
That price puts the Mk2 against the Fiat Topolino, a similarly styled microcar that starts at $14,985 but offers less range and a lower top speed. Moke has sold more than 500 Electric Mokes globally since the original version launched in 2022.
