The inside of your gaming PC can be a place of creativity. You can choose to hide it, locking away your rig's internals from the outside world to let them do their work in mystery. Or, you can pick a windowed case with a dash of RGB to show off its internals to the outside world.
Whatever, you do you. Several-Bar-6512 originally used "a large number" of Lian Li screen-equipped fans for this build, but wanted to take it several steps further. This involved adding multiple screens into their setup, with the larger ones being powered by three Raspberry Pi machines doing nothing but beaming moving imagery to the outside world.
Nine smaller displays pull imagery from a microSD card, which means none of the gaming PC's main components are being used to cycle the gifs themselves. They all turn on and off with the PC, though, which means you're greeted with a dazzling display of internet imagery every time you press the power button.
Several-Bar-6512 says they spent "countless hours" scouring the internet and downloading over 17,000 gifs for the project, although some were scrapped during the editing and organisation phase.
The gifs were then organised and randomly named, then sequentially renamed to prevent gifs from the same topic appearing next to each other. The end result is a patchwork quilt of moving imagery that's both impressive on one level, and deeply migraine-inducing on the other.
Although that's just me projecting. I'm really not big on screens infiltrating the innards of our gaming PCs (with some notable exceptions), but in this case it's such a fabulous tribute to the ridiculous nature of rig customisation, I'm going to give it a pass. I still see the odd gap, though. More screens to come, perhaps? I wait with bated breath to find out.

Andy built his first gaming PC at the tender age of 12, when IDE cables were a thing and high resolution wasn't. 26 years later (yes he's getting old), he now spends his days writing about and reviewing graphics cards, CPUs, keyboards, mice, gaming headsets and much, much more. You name it, if it's PC gaming hardware he'll write words about it, with opinions and everything.
