Chevrolet has updated its two cheapest SUVs for the 2027 model year. The automaker is adding more than 20 standard safety features and a new adventure-focused Trailblazer trim.

The Trax and Trailblazer will reach dealers in spring 2027 with revised styling, larger screens, and built-in Google with Gemini. The changes come as the two nameplates post their best sales year yet.

Chevrolet says it has already delivered more than a quarter-million combined Trax and Trailblazer units this year, which makes this update for 2027 all the more meaningful.

Both SUVs get upgraded electrical and software architecture that enables over 20 standard safety and driver assistance features, up from previous levels. New additions include:

Existing systems carried over include:

Inside, both models now get a standard 11.0-inch driver information display paired with an 11.3-inch infotainment screen running Google built-in with Gemini. New buyers also get 12 months of OnStar One included, which adds in-vehicle WiFi hotspot capability and video streaming on top of standard OnStar services.

The 2027 Trax drops to three trims: entry-level, RS and Activ. Chevrolet says the small SUV remains the segment leader, accounting for one-fifth of its volume.

Styling updates include a new grille, redesigned wheels, all-LED taillamps and a redesigned liftgate, plus a power liftgate option for the first time.

Trim-specific details separate the Trax lineup. The entry-level trim gets higher-contrast wheels, RS adds 19-inch wheels (the largest offered across all trims), and Activ keeps its distinct front-end design. A new Storm Sky Gray interior color debuts across both nameplates.

Trailblazer's headline change is the arrival of Z71, a trim name Chevrolet has used since 1963 and one that debuted on its full-size pickup line in 1988. The badge already appears on the Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, and Silverado.

Trailblazer Z71 adds standard all-wheel drive, an off-road-tuned suspension, a skid plate and sport-terrain tires, along with a Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray interior finished with orange accents.

Trailblazer also gets a redesigned interior built around a new column-mounted shifter, which frees up space for a reworked center console with retractable cupholders for extra storage. The redesign also allowed Chevrolet to add rear HVAC vents, and the AutoSense power liftgate is now available on the Trailblazer for the first time.

Chevrolet has not released pricing for the 2027 Trax or Trailblazer.
