Doug DeMuro, prolific YouTuber and the founder of the auction site Cars & Bids, has curated quite a car collection. One of his most high-profile vehicles is his 2005 Ford GT. Doug's the second owner of the car, and he's driven it relatively regularly. But it seems like he's driven it enough, because Demuro has listed it for sale.

Why is Doug selling his Ford GT even though he admits he loves the car? Because he doesn't love the color. So he's going to sell this one to make room for another one. That's a good problem to have, and Doug has the perfect platform to rectify his issue.

Since Demuro is the founder of Cars & Bids, you can probably guess where the sale will take place. That's right, this 2005 Ford GT is now live as a No Reserve Auction listing on his site.

Demuro purchased the car in 2018 from fellow automotive journalist Karl Brauer. The prior owner racked up a fair bit of mileage for a car of this ilk, and Doug has added another 14,400 miles since acquiring it.

Today, the Midnight Blue Metallic GT shows 45,800 miles on its odometer. A few performance upgrades have been fitted, including a smaller supercharger pulley, SCT ECU tune, Ford Racing Exhaust, and Camilo Pardo's signature in the engine bay.

Pardo is the designer of the car, so that signature must add 30-40 horsepower.

Doug bought the car at a time when he financially stretched to make it happen. That's no longer an issue for Demuro, thanks to success on YouTube, his auction site, and elsewhere. So Doug can fix his one complaint about the car.

He doesn't love the blue-and-white paint scheme.

Demuro explains all of this in the video posted above, and mentions that his plan is to replace the car with another Ford GT. There's no word on which color he's angling for, but were I a betting man, I'd lean toward the fairly rare yellow version or maybe the always-cool baby-blue-and-orange Heritage Edition.

The Ford GT will certainly be a highlight sale for Cars & Bids, but it's part of a larger auction unfolding at the upcoming Willow Springs Reimagined event. Doug's car is one of sixteen stunners that will be on site, as the auction for each one closes in front of a live audience.

On October 17th at Willow Springs, Cars & Bids, these select auctions that began online on October 4th will end live at the racetrack. Bidders don't need to be in attendance to close on a car, but the live action could help push a few cars higher than they'd otherwise go.

What do you think?

The list of cars set for sale, by the way, is tremendous:

And much more. In fact, Acura is getting in on the fun by bringing its one-of-one Iron Man NSX. The screen-used car shown in Marvel's The Avengers will be auctioned off, with the listing opening on October 17th.
